Holter Monitoring is a continuous ECG recording done over 24-48 hours while you go about your daily activities. This portable device records your heart’s electrical activity throughout the day and night, capturing irregularities that might not appear during a standard ECG.

What to Expect
- Small electrodes will be attached to your chest
- Wires connect the electrodes to a small, portable recording device
- You’ll wear the monitor for 24-48 hours (or longer if prescribed)
- You’ll keep a diary of activities and any symptoms experienced
- You’ll return to the hospital to have the monitor removed
- The recorded data will be analyzed by our cardiologists

Preparation & Aftercare
- Wear loose-fitting, two-piece clothing
- Men may need to have small areas of chest hair shaved
- You cannot shower or bathe while wearing the monitor
- Avoid electric blankets, magnets, metal detectors, and high-voltage areas
- Maintain your normal daily activities to get an accurate recording of your heart’s function
- Keep a detailed diary of activities and symptoms as instructed
